Manipur: FOCS To Observe Second Anniversary Of May 3 Incident Tomorrow

The Federation of Civil Society Organisations (FOCS), Manipur, is set to organise the observance of Aniraksuba 3/5 Ningshing Numit tomorrow at Yumnam Khunou Community Hall, Khundrakpam in Imphal East district.

The commemorative event will begin at 10:00 am and will be held in the presence of key civil society leaders and community representatives. BM Yaima Shah, Acting President of FOCS and Chairman of the Organising Committee, will preside over the programme.

Other dignitaries attending include Haopu Kom, President of Kom Tribe Union (Valley); Dr. K. Heera Kabui, President of Kabui Union, Manipur; Julia Shinglai, former AMSU member; ML Medun Maring, President of Maring Catholic Congress; RK Phillip, President of Thangal Union; Abdul Hakim, Associate Professor, Department of Political Science, DMU; Sorokhaibam Chandi, Secretary of Women Empowerment Association, Yumnam Khunou Awang; and Thangjam Bina, Secretary of Nishaband, Yumnam Khunou Makha.

The keynote address will be delivered by Rakesh Moirangthem, Convener of the Organising Committee, while the welcome speech will be given by Laitonjam (O) Ashalata, a member of the organising team.

Representatives from Churachandpur, Moreh, Kangpokpi, and Ikou, along with Irengbam Rojita Leima, representing the Meitei Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs), will also deliver speeches during the programme, along with members of the presidium.
