Agartala, May 03, 2025: The West Agartala Police on Friday detained Alamin Hossein, a controversial content creator behind the social media identity ‘Mr. Honco’, for allegedly uploading offensive content on platforms like YouTube and Facebook.
Confirming the detention, Officer-in-Charge of West Agartala police station Paritosh Das stated, “We have registered a specific case after receiving five separate complaints against him. He has been detained for sharing content that includes anti-national remarks and derogatory statements against women.”
Das informed that the suspect, a resident of Sepahijala district, operated a Facebook account titled ‘Mr. Honco’. Authorities have initiated procedures to shut down the account and have notified Facebook’s parent company about the matter.
“We are committed to taking prompt action against those misusing social media to spread offensive or harmful content,” Das said.
The police have announced plans to present Hossein before the court, seeking five days of police remand for further investigation.
According to officials, the case marks a stern warning for content creators violating legal and ethical boundaries on digital platforms.
