Agartala, May 05, 2025: Government Railway Police (GRP) personnel at Dharmanagar Railway Station detained a local gold trader on Sunday after seizing nearly Rs 24 lakh in unaccounted cash from his possession.

The individual, identified as Rahul Debnath, a resident of Noapara and the owner of a jewellery shop in DL Market, Dharmanagar, was reportedly apprehended during a routine raid on a train bound for Agartala.

According to police sources, officers recovered Rs 23,98,900 in cash from Debnath, who failed to produce any valid documentation to justify carrying such a large amount.
