Agartala, May 05, 2025: The Parcel Cargo Express train was officially flagged off from Agartala railway station on Sunday, marking a significant development in Tripura’s economic and logistical landscape. The new service is expected to enhance the state’s commercial potential by providing faster and more efficient transportation of goods to major trade hubs across India, including Kolkata, Guwahati, and Delhi.

Officials described the launch as a milestone moment for the region, particularly for Tripura and the broader Northeast. The train will play a crucial role in linking local agricultural products, handicrafts, and small businesses with national markets, thereby integrating the region more deeply into the country’s economic mainstream.

Described as a “new horizon in logistics management,” the initiative is anticipated to accelerate growth and unlock fresh opportunities for trade and commerce in the area.
