The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast heavy rainfall along with thunderstorms and lightning across the Northeastern states till Thursday.

According to the IMD, the region is likely to experience fairly widespread to widespread light to moderate rainfall over the next seven days. Gusty winds with speeds reaching up to 50 kilometres per hour are also expected in several parts of the region.
