Guwahati, May 7: Congress leader Gaurav Gogoi on Tuesday criticized Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma over new allegations targeting his wife, Elizabeth Colburn. Sarma had claimed that Colburn had “good relations” with the Pakistan Army and had made 19 trips to Pakistan, allegedly accompanied by Pakistan Army officials.
Responding to the accusations, Gogoi condemned Sarma’s remarks as “petty politics,” accusing the BJP’s IT cell of engaging in baseless allegations at a time when the nation stood united in support of the Centre’s efforts against Pakistan.
