Manipur Governor Ajay Kumar Bhalla visited the border district of Chandel today to review the law and order situation and assess administrative and developmental progress in the region.
During his visit, the Governor inaugurated the District Library and an Information Technology Centre at the district headquarters, aimed at improving public access to learning resources and digital infrastructure.
Governor Bhalla later chaired a review meeting at the Conference Hall of the Deputy Commissioner’s office, where he conducted a comprehensive assessment of various developmental initiatives, including Centrally Sponsored Schemes being implemented in the district. Deputy Commissioner L. Nandakumar Singh and other District Level Officers (DLOs) presented detailed updates on welfare programmes aimed at improving the quality of life for local residents.
Superintendent of Police Babitarani Swain briefed the Governor on the current security situation and ongoing efforts to maintain peace and order. The Governor urged officials to ensure that government schemes effectively reach the people and deliver maximum benefits.
Governor Bhalla also met with representatives of Civil Society Organisations, listening to their grievances and suggestions.
The Governor was warmly received upon arrival at the district headquarters by the Deputy Commissioner, Superintendent of Police, and other senior officials.
