Shillong, May 7: Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad Sangma has announced plans to collaborate with Asean One, a Japan-based recruitment agency, to establish a Japanese language academy in Shillong. The initiative aims to train local human resources for employment opportunities in Japan.
Under this collaboration, Asean One will sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Meghalaya government to deploy the state’s workforce across various sectors in Japan. This partnership seeks to help Japan address its human resource gaps while providing young people from Meghalaya with valuable overseas work experience.
Chief Minister Sangma emphasized the benefits of overseas placements, citing the success of Meghalaya’s nurses working in Japan. He encouraged local youth to explore these opportunities for career growth and financial success.
