Manipur: Two Arrested For Selling Duplicate SIM Cards Without KYC, Police Seize Equipment

The Manipur Police have arrested two individuals from different locations in Thoubal district for selling duplicate SIM cards without adhering to KYC (Know Your Customer) norms, despite knowing the SIMs would be used for illegal activities.

The arrested individuals have been identified as Laishram Rajesh Singh, also known as Tomba, 19, from Khangabok Part-III Khunou Leikai, Thoubal district, who was apprehended from his residence under Thoubal Police Station; and Md. Nawaz Khan, also known as Wash Khan, 27, from Sangaiyumpham Cherapur Mayai Leikai Part-II, Thoubal district, who was arrested in front of a shop at Sangaiyumpham Cherapur Mayai Leikai Part-II under Thoubal Police Station.

During the operation, police seized several items from their possession, including four mobile handsets, two Aadhaar cards, and one side bag containing a notebook, 41 new SIM cards, and a biometric fingerprint scanner.
