Gangtok, May 8: Chief Secretary of the Government of Sikkim, R Telang, met with US Consul General Kolkata, Kathy Giles Diaz, at the Teesta Lounge in Tashiling Secretariat.

The meeting focused on Sikkim’s progress in power projects and healthcare services. The Chief Secretary also highlighted the state’s impressive economic growth, citing its position as the leader in per capita Gross State Domestic Product (GSDP) in India. Key areas of discussion included tourism and disaster management.

The US Consul General commended Sikkim’s natural beauty and its pioneering role in organic farming. She expressed interest in potential collaborations, describing the state as “a small but mighty state on the rise.”

The meeting concluded with a shared commitment to explore future infrastructure development and partnerships.
