Aizawl, May 9: Mizoram Chief Minister Lalduhoma on Thursday laid the foundation stone for a Rs 20.64-crore egg production farm at Thenzawl in Serchhip district.

The project is aimed at increasing local egg production, as Mizoram currently imports eggs worth over Rs 22 crore annually due to the absence of mass production facilities.

During the programme, the chief minister also laid the foundation stone for a bailey bridge at Dilpui, a natural lake and tourist spot, and inaugurated a mithun conservation centre in the area.
