The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted heavy to very heavy rainfall at isolated locations in Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim on Monday. Thunderstorms with gusty winds and lightning are expected to impact Northwest, Central, East, and South Peninsular India. The IMD also forecasts isolated hailstorms in Assam, Meghalaya, and Punjab.
Additionally, heatwave conditions are likely to occur in isolated areas of Bihar, West Bengal, and Sikkim, while hot and humid conditions are expected in Jharkhand, Kerala, Mahe, Tamil Nadu, and Puducherry. The IMD has also noted a gradual rise in maximum temperatures by 2-3°C over Central India in the next seven days.
