Guwahati, May 14: Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Tuesday said the National Democratic Alliance’s (NDA) emphatic victory in the Assam panchayat elections is a clear endorsement of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s people-centric policies.
Expressing gratitude to the people of Assam, Shah termed the 2025 panchayat poll results a “historic victory” for the NDA. He stated that the outcome reflects the public’s support for the peace and development brought under Modi’s leadership.
Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma stated that the NDA won 300 out of 397 seats in the Zila Parishad polls, securing 76.22 percent of the vote share. In the Anchalik Panchayat elections, the alliance bagged 1,436 of 2,192 seats with 66 percent vote share.
“Gratitude to the people of Assam for granting the NDA a historic victory in the Panchayat Election 2025,” Shah posted on ‘X’. “This victory is an endorsement of PM Shri @narendramodi Ji’s people-centric policies that have brought about a new era of peace and prosperity in Assam.”
