Agartala, May 16, 2025: Tripura’s Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare Minister Ratan Lal Nath inaugurated a rubber plantation on Friday over one hectare of land owned by Haricharan Debbarma in East Noagaon under Mohanpur sub-division. The initiative is part of the ongoing micro watershed project aimed at sustainable agricultural development.

The inauguration ceremony witnessed the presence of SLN CEO Sharadindu Das, agricultural officials from Hejamara, police personnel from Sidhai, and several local dignitaries.

Speaking at the event, Minister Nath reiterated the government’s focus on empowering the farming community. “Our mission is to double or even triple farmers’ incomes through technological support and advanced training. The agricultural centers we’ve set up are transforming productivity and bringing tangible benefits to our farmers,” he stated.

Highlighting the BJP-led state government’s achievements, the minister noted that farmers have seen a marked increase in revenue since the party came to power. “This development is a win-win — both the farmers and the government are progressing together,” he added.

On a different note, Nath strongly condemned the recent terror attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, where 26 tourists lost their lives in a brutal assault by Pakistan-backed militants. He also slammed the CPI(M) in West Bengal for opposing India’s counter-terror operation “Sindoor” and accused the party of speaking against the nation’s armed forces.

“Communists are not nationalists. They’ve historically supported China and Pakistan against India,” Nath alleged, citing the CPI(M)’s stance during past Indo-China conflicts.
