Guwahati, May 19: The Assam Police has arrested a total of 71 individuals for alleged involvement in anti-national activities following the recent terror attack in Pahalgam. Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma confirmed the development on Monday.
According to the Chief Minister, the latest arrests include one person each from Kokrajhar, Goalpara, and South Salmara-Mankachar districts.
“71 Anti-Nationals are now behind bars! @assampolice is strictly monitoring the digital space,” Sarma stated in a post on X.
Authorities have intensified digital surveillance as part of ongoing efforts to identify and apprehend individuals linked to extremist activities.
