Gangtok, May 26: Ten students from Eklavya Model Residential Schools (EMRS) across Sikkim are currently undergoing a basic mountaineering course at the Atal Bihari Vajpayee Institute of Mountaineering and Allied Sports (ABVIMAS) in Manali, Himachal Pradesh.

The course started on May 13 and will run until June 7, 2025. The team is accompanied by Shri Mohan Prasad Burathoki, Graduate Teacher (Mathematics) from EMRS Suntoley, Melli, who is serving as the escort teacher.

This is the third consecutive year that EMRS students from Sikkim are participating in this training program.
