Shillong, May 30: Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad K. Sangma on Friday presented a Ryndia sari to Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman during a meeting in New Delhi.
The Ryndia silk, along with Khasi handloom, was recently accorded the Geographical Indication (GI) tag, recognising its cultural and traditional value. The sari, woven by artisans from Meghalaya, was gifted as a gesture to highlight the state’s handloom heritage.
The Chief Minister shared details of the meeting on his official X handle.
