Agartala, May 31, 2025: In light of severe weather conditions affecting various parts of Tripura, the Department of Higher Education has announced an extension for the submission of online applications for admission to the first semester of Government Degree Colleges for the 2025–26 academic session.

Originally set to close on May 30, the deadline for applications through the ‘Samarth’ online portal has now been extended to midnight on June 3, 2025. The department stated that the extension aims to accommodate students who were unable to complete their applications due to the inclement weather.

“The decision was taken to ensure that no student is deprived of the opportunity due to unforeseen circumstances,” an official from the department said. Authorities have urged all aspiring candidates to complete the application process well before the final cut-off date to avoid last-minute technical issues.

The admission process, which began on May 23, is being carried out entirely online via the ‘Samarth’ portal. Following the close of the application window, the first merit list will be released on June 11 on the respective college websites.

According to officials, the second round of admissions is scheduled to be held from June 21 to June 25, 2025.
