The flood situation in Arunachal Pradesh has improved as water levels in most rivers have begun to recede, officials said on Saturday. Despite this, around 33,000 people across 24 districts remain affected by floods and landslides.
Since the onset of the monsoon, 12 people have died and one person is missing due to rain-related incidents, including landslides.
The State Emergency Operation Centre (SEOC) stated that 33,200 people in 215 villages continue to be impacted by the floods and landslides.
Meanwhile, the state capital Itanagar is facing a drinking water crisis amid the ongoing flood situation.
