Assam has achieved a record in paddy procurement, with over 5.85 lakh metric tonnes purchased so far in the 2024–25 season, Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma announced on Monday.

In a post on social media platform X, Sarma said the procurement drive is ongoing and will continue until June 30, with the total quantity expected to rise further.

He stated that Assam has, for the first time, met its full paddy procurement target for the year.
