Agartala, June 09, 2025: As the monsoon clouds gather over Tripura, a different wave is sweeping across college campuses — one of innovation, ambition, and change. Samsung’s flagship innovation initiative, Solve for Tomorrow, has arrived in the Northeast with its fourth season, inspiring young minds to tackle India’s most urgent challenges.
Following its nationwide launch on April 29, the program’s design thinking workshops and Open House events have been making their way through India’s heartlands — from major cities to remote regions. In Tripura, the campaign reached Bir Bikram Memorial College and Netaji Subhash Mahavidyalaya, where students eagerly embraced the opportunity to become changemakers.
Samsung’s Solve for Tomorrow 2025 will award ₹1 crore to the top four winning teams, offering support for project incubation, prototyping, mentorship by Samsung experts and IIT Delhi faculty, and investor connections.
At Bir Bikram College, student Tarit Chakma shared his vision: “I want to solve waterlogging in tribal areas using smart yet affordable drainage technology.” Meanwhile, science undergraduate Sangeeta Dey expressed her passion for mental health. “I plan to build an anonymous digital assistant in Kokborok to support young people facing mental health challenges.”
At Netaji Subhash Mahavidyalaya, excitement buzzed through the packed halls. “I’ve been thinking about a wearable that alerts family or clinics in case of sudden health issues in the elderly,” said Sourav Shukladas. “This initiative made me believe such ideas can grow from Tripura.” His classmate Sangeeta Saha added, “We used to think we had to leave Tripura to create impact. Today, I believe we can transform our state through eco-tourism and innovation.”
Samsung’s movement is more than a contest—it’s a catalyst for youth-led transformation across India. And in the classrooms of Tripura, that transformation has truly begun.
