The United Committee Manipur (UCM) and the All Manipur United Clubs’ Organisation (AMUCO) have announced that preparations are in full swing to observe the 24th Great June 18 Uprising Unity Day at Kekrupat.

Addressing a joint press conference held at the UCM office in Lamphelpat, representatives of the two organisations informed that a cleanliness drive at Kekrupat will commence from tomorrow as part of the preparations.

The annual event commemorates the mass uprising of June 18, 2001, and is observed to honour those who laid down their lives defending Manipur’s territorial integrity.
