Agartala, June 10, 2025: Tripura Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha announced on Tuesday that the state has significantly benefited from centrally sponsored welfare schemes, with billions of rupees disbursed as low-interest loans, financial aid, and other benefits.

Speaking at a press briefing marking the 11th anniversary of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership, Saha praised Modi for eliminating intermediaries in benefit transfers, ensuring direct delivery to beneficiaries.

Highlighting key achievements, Saha revealed that under the PM Kisan Samman Nidhi scheme, Tripura farmers have received Rs. 843.66 crore via Direct Benefit Transfer since the program’s inception. Additionally, the PM Fasal Bima Yojana has disbursed over Rs. 10 crore directly to farmers, while the Kisan Credit Card scheme has sanctioned Rs. 2,272 crore in low-interest loans.

Significant progress has also been made under the Har Ghar Jal Yojana, with 85.97% of households now covered, a stark improvement from just 3% with tap water access previously, according to the Chief Minister.

In the social security sector, Saha noted that 8,251 small-scale traders, out of 8,666 eligible beneficiaries, received collateral-free loans ranging from Rs. 10,000 to Rs. 50,000. Under the Ayushman Bharat scheme, claims worth Rs. 239 crore have been settled, inspiring the state to launch its own health coverage program to provide free treatment to the needy. The PM Matri Vandana Yojana has disbursed Rs. 62 crore, benefiting approximately 1.46 lakh new mothers.

On renewable energy, Saha reported that over 15,000 people have registered for the PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana, with rooftop solar panels installed in 368 homes across Tripura.

The Chief Minister credited the Modi-led central government for its bold decisions in the national interest, emphasizing the transformative impact of these schemes on Tripura’s development.

At the same press conference, BJP Tripura Pradesh President Rajib Bhattacharjee announced a series of events to commemorate Modi’s 11 years in office. BJP state General Secretary Bipin Debbarma has been appointed to lead the organizing committee for these celebrations.
