Assam Police have arrested two more individuals for allegedly posting communal and derogatory content on social media, as part of an ongoing crackdown on what authorities have termed ‘anti-national’ activities. With these arrests, the total number of persons held has risen to 92.
As per an update shared by Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on his official X handle, Lakhimpur Police arrested Sabikul Islam for posting communally sensitive material, while Nagaon Police apprehended Dulal Bora for allegedly making derogatory comments about Lord Krishna and Rukmini.
The Chief Minister reaffirmed that the operation against such content and individuals will continue across the state.
