President Droupadi Murmu has postponed her planned day-long visit to Assam later this week for the second time, citing unavoidable circumstances, officials said on Tuesday.

She was scheduled to attend a state government event in Guwahati on Thursday, during which she was to confer the Srimanta Sankardeva Award on eminent classical dancer Sonal Mansingh.

A new date for the visit has not yet been announced.
