Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad K. Sangma participated in the District Nutrition Leadership Workshop held in Shillong, organised by the Human Development Council (HDC) of Meghalaya. The two-day event focused on addressing key nutritional issues concerning mothers and children in the state.
During the workshop, the Chief Minister launched the District Nutrition Challenge, which encourages all districts to set clear and achievable targets aimed at improving human development indicators.
The initiative highlights several focus areas, including enhancing child nutrition, promoting exclusive breastfeeding, reducing anemia, and ensuring access to locally sourced food through decentralized programmes.
The programme forms part of the state’s broader strategy to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) by 2030, with a strong emphasis on improving nutritional standards and overall human development across Meghalaya.
