Agartala, April 23, 2025: The Agartala Municipal Corporation (AMC) has presented a budget of ₹475.83 crore for the fiscal year 2025-26 with an estimated expenditure of ₹476.50 crore leaving a deficit of ₹72.02 lakh.
AMC Mayor Dipak Majumder formally introduced the budget during a session at the AMC conference hall on Wednesday, emphasizing its focus on the welfare of city residents. “The budget has been prepared keeping in mind the overall benefits of the people of Agartala. Despite a deficit of ₹72.02 lakh, we are confident in our ability to address this gap through our own revenue sources and central government initiatives,” he stated.
Majumder assured that efforts would be made to optimize the corporation’s financial resources and attract additional funds from government schemes to ensure uninterrupted civic services.
The budget highlights AMC’s commitment to urban development, with allocations for infrastructure, sanitation, and community welfare programs. Authorities reaffirmed that fiscal discipline and efficient resource management would remain priorities throughout the financial year.
All the Mayor-in-Councils, Corporators and AMC Commissioner Sailesh Kumar Yadav were also present.
