Guwahati, Apr 30: Assam police have arrested 34 individuals across various districts for allegedly defending Pakistan in the wake of the Pahalgam terror attack. Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma confirmed the arrests on Tuesday.
The accused were apprehended from districts including Cachar, Chirang, Hailakandi, Kamrup, Lakhimpur, Sonitpur, and South Salmara. Sarma posted on social media, stating, “Total: 34 Anti Nationals put behind bars in Assam.”
The arrests are linked to pro-Pakistan comments or posts made on social media following the terror attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir. Investigations are ongoing.
