Agartala, May 13, 2025: Tripura Chief Minister Professor (Dr.) Manik Saha on Tuesday hit out at the opposition, accusing them of being driven by “negative thinking” and failing to acknowledge the positive steps taken by the state government.
Speaking to reporters here in Agartala, Dr. Saha said, “The opposition is opposing the government with negative thinking. They are not appreciating the good works of the state government. If such thinking does not change, the state will not be able to move forward.” He emphasized that constructive criticism was welcome, but blind opposition only hindered development.
The Chief Minister made these remarks after distributing offer letters to 975 newly appointed police constables, calling it a “milestone” for Tripura’s police force. “After many years, offer letters have been distributed to 975 people for the state police. This is a significant step forward,” he said.
Highlighting the government’s commitment to law and order, Dr. Saha added, “There is no interference in the work of the police. They have been given full authority to maintain and strengthen the rule of law. This is why more appointments are being made—to reinforce law and order across the state.”
However, responding to the opposition’s claims that there is no rule of law in Tripura and that their leaders and workers are being attacked in the presence of police, the Chief Minister dismissed the allegations. “Such statements stem from a mindset of negativity. These baseless accusations are politically motivated,” he asserted.
Dr. Saha reiterated that the government remains focused on development and transparency, urging all parties to rise above partisan politics for the betterment of Tripura.
