Guwahati, May 15: In a major step towards promoting grassroots sports, Olympic bronze medalist Lovlina Borgohain has launched a state-of-the-art boxing academy in Chandra Gaon, North Guwahati.

The facility, developed under Lovlina’s personal initiative, is equipped with world-class equipment sourced from Patiala and aims to provide affordable, high-quality training to aspiring boxers from across Assam, particularly those from remote regions.

The official inauguration of the academy is scheduled for May 25. More centres under the Lovlina Boxing Academy banner are expected to be established across the state in the coming months.
