Agartala, May 21, 2025: A wave of shock and grief swept through Tripura’s Nalsingh Sardar Para in Kaladepa under the Manubazar police station after the dead body of a missing 9-year-old girl was found in a rubber plantation near her home on Wednesday morning.

The deceased has been identified as Ujjashikha Tripura, daughter of Rahim Tripura. According to police sources, the girl had gone missing on Tuesday around 4 PM. Despite desperate efforts by the family and locals, no trace of her could be found until her body was spotted early today in the nearby plantation.

Speaking to the media, a distraught family member said, “Our daughter didn’t go missing on her own. We strongly believe she was murdered. We want justice for Ujjashikha.”

Upon receiving the information, police personnel from Manubazar police station arrived at the scene and recovered the body. It has since been sent to the hospital for post-mortem examination to determine the cause of death.

“We have launched a thorough investigation. The autopsy report will help us ascertain the exact cause of death. All angles, including foul play, are being considered,” said a police officer involved in the case.
