Guwahati, May 21: Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Wednesday announced that the Assam Police will adopt a ‘zero tolerance’ policy towards illegal immigration, wildlife poaching, crimes against women, and drug trafficking.
The announcement came after the conclusion of the fifth conference of Superintendents of Police (SPs) held over two days at Lachit Barphukan Police Academy in Golaghat. The conference, chaired by Sarma, focused on enhancing professionalism and preparing the police force for future challenges.
In a social media post, Sarma stated, “I reiterated that we will adopt a Zero Tolerance Policy on Illegal Immigration, Wildlife Poaching, Crimes against Women and Drugs.”
