Kohima, May 23: Nagaland Rajya Sabha member S Phangnon Konyak has been nominated to the Court of Nagaland University by the Vice-President of India and Rajya Sabha Chairman, Jagdeep Dhankhar.
In a statement issued by her press secretary, Tenyebinlo Himb, Konyak expressed her gratitude for the nomination and said she was honoured to take on the role. She assured that she would work closely with university authorities to review policies and programmes as per the Nagaland University Act, 1989.
Konyak acknowledged the university’s contribution in producing alumni who have served the nation in various capacities, including bureaucrats, elected representatives, professionals, and thought leaders.
Reaffirming her commitment to the institution, the MP said she would strive to enhance the university’s quality of education, promote progressive policymaking, and engage constructively with stakeholders to raise Nagaland University’s standing among leading academic institutions in the country.
