Guwahati, Jun 3: Assam police have arrested another individual for allegedly sympathising with Pakistan on social media platforms. The latest arrest brings the total number of such detentions in the state to 82, following a crackdown initiated after the Pahalgam terror attack, Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said on Tuesday.
The arrested person, Ajibul Islam, was taken into custody from Lakhimpur district.
The Chief Minister posted on X, “#Update on crackdown against Anti-national elements | June 3. A total of 82 people are behind bars now for sympathising with Pakistan on social platforms. The action will continue.”
