Tripura: Woman Found Dead by Hanging in Bishalgarh, Family Alleges Foul Play

Agartala, June 10, 2025: A tragic incident rocked Tripura’s Noapara area under Bishalgarh subdivision on Tuesday morning after a woman was found dead by hanging inside her shop allegedly leaving her young daughter alone at home.

The deceased Helena Begum, a resident of Kamthana and wife of Araber Rahman had been married for 12 years. Locals recall the couple’s affectionate relationship Helena was often seen bringing water to her husband while he worked in the fields under the blazing sun.

The shocking finding was made by neighbors, who immediately informed Bishalgarh Women’s Police Station. Police rushed to the scene and recovered the body, which was later sent to Bishalgarh Sub-Divisional Hospital for post-mortem examination.

Soon after the incident, family members from both sides arrived at the scene, leading to a heated altercation. Tension escalated rapidly, prompting police intervention to prevent further conflict.

Helena’s family has alleged that her death may not have been a suicide but a premeditated murder. Authorities have launched an investigation and stated that the truth behind the incident will become clearer after the autopsy report is received.
