Agartala, June 12, 2025: Tripura Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha on Thursday reaffirmed the state government’s commitment to the all-round development of Janajati communities, aligning with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision for inclusive growth.
Speaking at a public gathering at Baijalbari School Ground after inaugurating eight development projects in Khowai district, Dr. Saha said, “Under the guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, our government is dedicated to ensuring socio-economic upliftment of Janajati people. Tripura is a land of rich cultural diversity, and we are committed to strengthening unity in this diversity.”
The Chief Minister underscored his administration’s focus on balanced development across rural and urban regions. “Education, healthcare, communication—these are our key priorities. Khowai district had been neglected for years, but we are now actively working towards its progress,” he said.
As part of the visit, Dr. Saha inaugurated projects worth approximately ₹8 crore, including the state’s 89th police station at Baijalbari and a newly built 50-seated Scheduled Tribe Boys’ Hostel constructed at a cost of ₹2 crore.
In addition, the Chief Minister virtually inaugurated six other projects: Mungiakami Block Public Health Unit at ₹64.04 lakh; Teliamura Block Public Health Unit at ₹34.38 lakh; Tulashikhar Block Public Health Unit at ₹54.80 lakh; Khowai District Panchayat Resource Centre, Dhalabil at ₹2 crore; Two-storied building for Teliamura Block at ₹1.289 crore; and Additional classrooms for Metharai Riangbari H.S. School – ₹1.18 crore.
Dr. Saha emphasized the government’s drive to strengthen citizen-friendly infrastructure as part of the larger vision of a “Viksit Tripura.”
The programme was attended by Tribal Welfare Minister Bikash Debbarma, Tipra Motha MLA Ranjit Debbarma, Khowai Zilla Parishad Sabhadhipati Aparna Singha Roy, Panchayat Department Director Prasun De, Khowai DM Rajat Pant and several senior officials and public representatives.
