The District Development Coordination and Monitoring Committee (DISHA) meeting for Gyalshing district was held on Tuesday at the Conference Hall of the District Zilla Panchayat in Kyongsa. The meeting was chaired by Lok Sabha Member of Parliament and Chairman of the DISHA Committee, Dr Indra Hang Subba.
The session saw participation from Zilla Adhakshya DS Limboo, Zilla Upa-Adhakshya Anita Rai, MLA Sudesh Kumar Subba, District Collector and Member Secretary of DISHA Tenzing D Denzongpa, ADC (Development) Surat Kumar Gurung, and officials from various line departments. Representatives from the Block Development Offices, Panchayats, and other stakeholders were also present.
Heads of departments delivered presentations highlighting progress, challenges, and achievements under flagship Central Government schemes implemented across the district. Dr Subba emphasized the importance of inter-departmental coordination and data-driven planning to address gaps and achieve saturation of welfare schemes.
He urged all line departments to prioritise issues emerging at the Block and Village Administrative Centres and assured continued support to achieve the vision of ‘Viksit Sikkim, Viksit Bharat’. The MP further encouraged collaborative efforts under the spirit of ‘Team Gyalshing’.
District Collector Tenzing D Denzongpa reviewed the previous meeting’s agenda and stressed the need for a shared approach to improve implementation metrics. He also addressed challenges arising due to delays by NHIDCL that have affected the district’s development goals.
ADC (Development) Surat Kumar Gurung shared updated guidelines from the Ministry, informing that Zilla Panchayat members, Nagar Panchayat representatives, women from the ST community, and NGOs have now been inducted into the Impact Assessment Committee.
The meeting concluded with an interactive session, where members and stakeholders raised queries and received responses aimed at further strengthening the district’s development agenda under Central Government schemes.
