Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Tuesday visited Dhubri to review the law and order situation in the district. He chaired a review meeting at the Circuit House, where senior officials discussed steps to maintain peace and address security concerns in the region.

The discussions also included a proposal to establish a permanent Indian Army camp near Dhubri to strengthen the district’s security framework.

“Reviewed the prevailing law and order situation in Dhubri. Our zero tolerance approach along with apprehending 150 anti-social elements is working, but we are not lowering our guard against communal forces,” the Chief Minister stated on social media.

He added that the government is exploring the option of setting up a permanent army base to bolster the security apparatus in this sensitive district.
