Manipur: Jiribam District Observes International Day Against Drug Abuse With Walkathon

The District Police and District Administration of Jiribam jointly observed the International Day against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking today with a Walkathon held at the District Headquarters.

The event, led by Superintendent of Police Sheikh Mohd Zaib Zakir, IPS, began at 9:30 am from Irawat Chowk and concluded at Echel Club Ground, Dibong. Participants included personnel from the District Police, 87 BN CRPF, teachers and students of Kasturba Girls High School, and district-level officers and officials.

Carrying placards and banners with anti-drug slogans, participants marched through the streets to raise awareness about the dangers of drug abuse. The event underscored the importance of community involvement in promoting a healthy and drug-free society.

Organisers said the initiative aimed to educate the public on the harmful effects of substance abuse and encourage individuals to make informed choices for their well-being.
