Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad Sangma on Thursday announced the inauguration of the new Block Office building of the Bhoirymbong Community and Rural Development (C&RD) Block. The ceremony was marked by the presence of Bah Colbert Shadap, a veteran of the Indo-Pakistan Wars of 1965 and 1971, who was invited to formally inaugurate the building.
Speaking about the event on his official social media platform, the Chief Minister stated that the decision to involve members of the community in the inauguration reflects the government’s commitment to public service. He expressed hope that the Block Development Officer (BDO) and the staff would continue to serve the people of the Bhoirymbong area with renewed dedication.
Sangma also reiterated the state government’s ongoing efforts to upgrade block offices across Meghalaya. He said that improved infrastructure is essential not only for delivering government services more effectively but also for motivating administrative teams working in rural areas.
