Former ADC Members Urge Manipur Governor To Expedite Council Elections

A delegation of former members of the Autonomous District Councils (ADCs) met with the Governor of Manipur, Ajay Kumar Bhalla, at Raj Bhavan in Imphal today to express their deep concern over the prolonged delay in holding ADC elections in the state.

During the meeting, the delegation submitted a memorandum highlighting the hardships faced by the hill areas due to the absence of elected local bodies. They emphasized that the delay has severely hampered development and governance in the hill districts and urged the Governor to take immediate steps to ensure the timely conduct of the pending elections.

Meanwhile, in a separate engagement at Raj Bhavan, Brigadier N. Romeo Singh (Retd.), who recently assumed office as a Member of the Manipur Public Service Commission (MPSC), also called on Governor Bhalla.
