Agartala, July 01, 2025: Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw on Tuesday unveiled RailOne, a next-generation mobile application aimed at improving passenger services, during the 40th Foundation Day celebration of the Centre for Railway Information Systems (CRIS) held at India Habitat Centre, New Delhi.
RailOne is a comprehensive, user-friendly app that integrates multiple passenger services into a single platform. Available on both Android and iOS, the app offers features such as: Booking of unreserved and platform tickets with a 3% discount; Live train tracking; E-catering, porter booking, and last-mile taxi services; and Grievance redressal mechanisms.
While reserved ticket booking will continue through the IRCTC platform, RailOne has been officially authorized by IRCTC, similar to other partnered commercial apps. The app supports single sign-on with login options via mPIN or biometric authentication and is compatible with existing RailConnect and UTS credentials. By consolidating functions, it eliminates the need to install multiple apps.
Minister Vaishnaw praised the CRIS team for its technological strides and urged them to further strengthen Indian Railways’ digital backbone. He highlighted the progress on the upcoming Modern Passenger Reservation System (PRS), which is expected to be rolled out by December 2025.
The upgraded PRS will be: Agile, scalable, and multilingual, capable of managing 1.5 lakh ticket bookings and 40 lakh inquiries per minute; and Equipped with features such as seat selection, fare calendars, and inclusive services for Divyangjan, students, and patients.
The minister emphasized that the modernization of railways is aligned with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of making Indian Railways the growth engine of the nation’s development journey (Vikas Yatra).
The launch of RailOne and the upcoming PRS reflect the Railways’ ongoing commitment to enhancing passenger experience through digital innovation.
