Assam Rifles Extends Vital Aid to Stranded Passengers after Haflong Landslide

Agartala, July 04, 2025: In the wake of a sudden landslide between Mupa and Dihakho Railway Stations on July 3, train services were severely disrupted, leaving hundreds of passengers stranded at New Haflong Railway Station. Responding swiftly to the crisis, Assam Rifles stepped in to provide critical assistance to affected civilians.

Mobilizing its personnel and resources within hours, the paramilitary force delivered essential medical aid and emergency support, particularly to vulnerable groups including women, children, and the elderly. Many passengers were reportedly suffering from dehydration and exhaustion due to the prolonged disruption.

“The timely action by Assam Rifles brought much-needed relief and stability to the situation,” said a local official, praising the coordination between the force and civil authorities.
