Mesom Singhi from Arunachal Pradesh has won the gold medal in the Women’s Kata event at the 9th South Asian Karate Championship held in Colombo, Sri Lanka, from July 2 to 5.

She represented India under the mentorship of national coach Shihan Keerthan Kondru. A 3rd Dan Black Belt holder, Mesom has earned more than 26 medals at state, national, and international levels.

Currently training in Hyderabad, she has also been selected to represent India at the 21st Asian Senior Karate Championship to be held in Tashkent in 2025.
