Speaker of the Sikkim Legislative Assembly Mingma Norbu Sherpa, along with Secretary Lalit Kumar Gurung and Personal Secretary Aadarsh Chhetri, attended the meeting of the “Committee of Presiding Officers to Review the Committee System” held at the Madhya Pradesh Legislative Assembly.

The committee, chaired by Madhya Pradesh Legislative Assembly Speaker Narendra Singh Tomar, includes Speakers from seven states—Madhya Pradesh, Himachal Pradesh, Rajasthan, West Bengal, Uttar Pradesh, Odisha, and Sikkim.

During the meeting, members held discussions on various aspects of the committee system in State Legislatures with a focus on its comprehensive review and improvement. A plantation drive was also held at the Assembly Secretariat before the meeting.

Madhya Pradesh Governor Mangubhai C. Patel was present during a luncheon hosted for the participants. The Sikkim Legislative Assembly delegation will also visit Ujjain and Indore as part of a post-meeting study tour.
