The Mizoram Oil Tanker Drivers’ Association (MOTDA) has declared a suspension of oil transportation services starting July 19, citing the poor condition of the Sairang-Kawnpui stretch of the national highway that connects Mizoram with Assam.
In a statement issued on Friday, the association said the road is severely damaged and unsafe for oil tankers to operate.
“MOTDA has decided to halt operations on the highway until repairs are carried out to ensure the safety of drivers. We apologise for the inconvenience this may cause,” the statement added.
