West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Saturday alleged that the BJP-led government in Assam is threatening Bengali-speaking residents who wish to live peacefully while respecting all languages and religions.
She criticised what she termed as a “divisive agenda” being pursued by the BJP in Assam, stating that it has “crossed all limits.” Banerjee also accused the Centre and BJP-ruled states of systematically targeting Bengali-speaking migrants by labelling them as “illegal Bangladeshis” or “Rohingyas.”
