The North East Region – World Human Rights Organisation (NER-WHRO) has called on the Kuki and Naga communities to uphold peace, mutual respect, and brotherhood amid rising tensions in the region.
In a statement issued by NER-WHRO General Secretary Chonlalpaul Kipgen, the organisation reaffirmed its commitment to non-violence, human dignity, and peaceful coexistence among all communities in the North East.
“God created us to live together in harmony, to uplift one another—not to be torn apart by hatred and discord,” Kipgen stated, urging people of faith to embody the Christian principles of love, forgiveness, and unity.
Quoting Albert Einstein—“Peace cannot be kept by force; it can only be achieved by understanding”—Kipgen also cited biblical teachings such as Hebrews 12:14 and Matthew 5:9 to advocate reconciliation and peace-building.
With tensions continuing in the region, the NER-WHRO’s message stands as a strong appeal for unity, reminding communities of the shared responsibility to foster lasting peace and understanding.
