A bomb threat email received on Thursday afternoon at the Dispur co-district office located in the Basistha area of Guwahati was found to be a hoax, police said.

Authorities carried out a thorough search of the premises but did not find any explosives or suspicious objects. Police have assured the public that the office and surrounding areas are safe and are investigating the origin of the false threat.
