East Kameng district has reached a significant milestone in public health with the successful delivery of Hepatitis vaccines using drone technology. The vaccines were transported from the District Hospital in Seppa to the Primary Health Centre (PHC) in Bameng under the Drone-Based Doorstep Diagnostic Service Project.
The initiative, confirmed by the District Information and Public Relations (DIPR), East Kameng, is aimed at improving last-mile healthcare delivery in remote and inaccessible areas of Arunachal Pradesh.
According to officials, the drone-based system ensures faster transportation, timely immunisation, and the maintenance of cold-chain integrity essential for vaccine effectiveness.
Authorities highlighted that the use of drone technology offers a practical solution to overcome geographical challenges, marking a major step forward in integrating modern logistics with rural healthcare infrastructure in the region.
